Best Mascaras & Lash Products
I get a lot of comments on my lashes - and even get asked on a weekly basis if I have extensions. While I've never had lash extensions, I think I have tried every mascara and lash serum out there! The most important thing I've learned is that you really have to be gentle with your lashes and undereye area. This Kiehl's eye make-up remover is a must-have for me - it's really gentle but not oily at all. I also wear contact lenses so I'm extra-careful about what I use around my eyes and I've never had a problem with this product. I really like the Almay oil-free removal pads for travel and sometimes I'll even use them after the Kiehl's cleanser just to freshen the eye area, especially if I'm changing eye make-up and not just going to bed.
The Lancome lash primer is a must-have product for me. I apply it before mascara and it conditions and protects lashes as well as adding volume and length. I put two coats on and let it dry about 15-20 seconds between each coat - if you've never used it, you won't believe the difference it makes in the way your lashes look and feel. L'oreal makes this lash primer, which is also good and under $10.
I change mascaras pretty frequently -eye doctors recommend every 3 months - but that's just my excuse because I love mascara and I always want to try out the latest products. No matter what brands I use (the ones linked above are my current faves), I also use a lengthening/defining formula AND a volumizing formula. I put the lengthening formula on after the lash primer and let it dry for 15-20 seconds before putting the volumizing mascara on.
Well, that's it for my everyday mascara and lash routine. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and have a beautiful weekend.
